Daily, people in the United States talk about the various wars, battles and military conflicts that our country currently finds itself involved with, both domestically with issues such as drugs and gangs, and internationally with the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. Those are issues vital to our nation and are obviously of grave importance to and have an impact on virtually every person living in our great nation, both directly and indirectly. But I'm starting this blog not to discuss those vital issues, but rather another war that is currently being carried out in our nation but which few are, unfortunately, discussing. That war is the war on science.
While the issues I mention above are arguably of greater importance due to the loss of lives and grave impacts they have on so many across the U.S., this is an issue that currently is flying under the radar for most and I feel it's time that someone raises the issue to Americans and shows what consequences will result if nothing is done to stop it.
I hope you'll tune in, become engaged, and realize the important role science plays in our society, the value it adds to our way of life and why we need to stop people who are both ignoring it and undermining it.
More to come shortly...
